2021 - Present
PhD Student under the advisory of Dr. Megan Newcombe at the University of Maryland, College Park. My research topic is investigating the effect of a varying magma ascent rate during multiple eruptions at Cinder Cone, Lassen Volcanic National Park. My methodology is the use of a diffusion model for water in olivine grains that can constrain timescales of ascent, which will then be compared between different deposits of stylistically different eruptions of Cinder Cone. This project aims to constrain the effect of magma ascent rate on the explosivity of eruptions.
